SETTING

SETTING

Restoria is a fantasy world with sci-fi and magitech elements, inhabited by a peaceful old world sentient species that have evolved to the point of natural immortality. The planet exists in a universe separate from the universes of all the characters that will be called there, functioning as the center of the webbed bonds of the multiverse.

Though it occupies an important place in the multiverse, the world of Restoria is a world in twilight: figuratively and literally. Not only does the habitable portion of the planet appear as if in eternal sunset, the native populace is not what they once were. One need not travel far outside the Houses to see signs of devastation and collapse that the Enders of the Void have wrought with their corrupted magic. But there is still life. More importantly, there are still Restorians who will do what they can to provide all the help and knowledge the Travelers need to face what the Restorians claim is the greatest threat of them all: the Devourer, the patron of the Enders, and the cosmic being that could bring about the end of everyone and everything.

THE WORLD

[ art credit: 1, 2, 3 ]

The planet of Restoria is a tidally locked world, trapped by the gravity of its star so that the same side always faces the sun as it completes its short circumsolar orbit. Forever baked by daylight on one side, frozen by endless night on the other, Restoria is marked by a boundary of twilight between its hemispheres that encompasses the majority of the habitable world. In areas where the Restorian sun can be seen, it dominates the sky.

A thick atmosphere and regular weather patterns keep the twilight boundary and some of the area that surrounds it on either side temperate, and thus comfortable for life. Outside these major cities, however, any combination of intense temperatures, devastating storms, and potentially deadly UV radiation prevent travel and homesteading. There are no days and no seasons here, but instead a partial sunrise and sunset cycle that occurs in the twilight area over the course of about an Earth week. Restorians mark their time and have created their calendar according to this cycle: one sun cycle is divided into Sevenths, which each consist of a First Shift and a Second Shift where the populace takes turns working and resting.

As arable land is scarce on Restoria, a worldwide culture of unity and harmony emerged long ago as the antidote to civil conflict over this limited resource. Perhaps as yet another way to prevent disagreement, most Restorians allied themselves into separate, yet cooperating, factions with like-minded individuals. The House of Cloud occupy the frigid mountains of the nighttime side of Restoria, where the stars shine bright and delightful displays of auroras dazzle in the dark sky. The House of Stone make their home in the canyons and underground cave systems of the daylight side, sheltered from the blistering sun in a cool haven where they can enjoy the world's rich mineral resources.

THE TWILIGHT STRIP

[ art credit: 1 ]

The Twilight Strip, where the Restorian sun never fully rises nor completely sets, is home to the Sentinels of Restoria, the ruins of The Lost House, and the Umbral Forest. Many thousands more Restorians - the majority of the Natives, in fact - once lived here, but no longer. The approach of the Enders, the enemies of the multiverse, has taken its toll. Outside of the rot and corruption of the Umbral Forest and the crumbling decay of the Ruins, however, the Twilight Strip is a lush equatorial valley which sustains plenty of plant and animal life with comfortable weather and fresh running water. As the name suggests, the perpetual sunset light here may seem dim at first, as it basks all it touches in subtly shifting hues of violet, pink, and red. Oh, but don't worry. Your eyes will soon adjust.

The focal point of the Twilight Strip is the enormous Tree at the center of the Greenhouse of Unity, the towering form of which can be seen from miles away. This is where Restorians hold their many gatherings and celebrations, and where Travelers arrive upon the Calling.

FLORA & FAUNA

[ art credit: 1, 2, 3 ]

As a result of the Merging - which truly began long before the arrival of the Travelers, thanks to the experimentations of the Sentinels in their efforts to save every world of the multiverse - many of the plants and animals of Restoria may look eerily familiar to a new arrival. As for native flora and fauna, they are not unlike what one would expect of Earth, albeit with unique adaptations to life on a planet of many extremes.

Plants thrive in many bright and unfamiliar colors, and flowers may have unexpected effects if smelled or consumed. Particularly in the Twilight Strip, plant life and animal life have intertwined, symbiotically sharing energies. One might see a stag with flowering antlers, or a moss-covered fox. In the more hostile areas of the night and day sides of the planet, animal life has grown to harness the mystical energy of the very crystals and gemstones that Restorians also mine to fuel their magics. Even for Natives, the shimmering sight of a bioluminescent crystalline bird or a rugged agate-scaled snake can be breathtaking. Notably, every living thing on Restoria is peaceful towards Natives and Travelers alike unless its life is threatened.

There is one exception to this rule, however: those corrupted by darkness, which occupy the Umbral Forest. These creatures are the domain of the Devourer.

RULES

RULES

1. Golden Rule. Be nice, be cool, respect other people’s boundaries, treat others as you want to be treated.

2. Three Strike Policy. You get three warnings for behavior and then you are out. Mods reserve the right to ban for one offense if it’s serious enough to warrant it.

3. Communication is Important. If you have issues with another player, talk it out. If you need help, please come to the mods for mediation assistance. The only drama we want is the IC kind.

4. Content Warnings. Anything that needs a CW should have one. Lock sexual content to the game. Err on the side of caution, not dismissal.

5. IC =/= OOC. No bleed. Understand you the player do control your character not the other way around.

6. Players must be 18+ to join. Characters must be at least 10 years old and/or self-sufficient.

7. Have fun together! This is a collaborative game. Don’t overthink it and don’t try to “win” it.

REWARDS

REWARDS

Get ready to get rewarded! Here, players can submit their complete and incomplete threads with at least 5 posts/comments from your character for powers and items. Completed action threads threads can be used for Bond Boosts (powers), while threads of any kind (complete or incomplete, quest or log, network or action) can be submitted for items from the Shop. Threads do not expire for rewards, meaning threads started at any time can be used, no matter how many weeks or months ago you started or finished.

Quick Q&A

  • What is a completed thread?

Threads are considered complete when the scene reaches a natural conclusion, without being dropped by either party. (Ongoing chit-chat afterwards is fine, as long as you feel the main "scene" is complete.)

  • What is an action thread?

Action threads are an in-person interaction between characters, as opposed to network threads, which take place over the network. Threads that move from network to action do count as action threads!

  • Can Quest threads and Inbox threads be used for Bond Boosts?

    Yes!

  • Can I submit my thread again after it's completed?

No, threads can only be used once for any kind of reward.

  • What is "close CR"?

We leave this up to you and your character to define! "Close CR" can apply to any CR, not just cross or same-House.

BOND BOOSTS

[ 1 thread = Tier 1 ] [ 2 threads = Tier 2 ] [ 3 threads = Tier 3 ]

Different boosts are afforded for building CR within your own House versus CR outside of your own House. With enough threading, it is possible to attain both in-House and cross-House boosts! Boosts are cumulative, meaning Tier 2 boosts are granted in addition to Tier 1 boosts and so on. Players may select any combination of eligible advantages for their characters that they like, or none if they prefer.

Furthermore, boosts can also apply to canon/original powers in addition to OR instead of the setting-specific powers listed here. Tier 1 will be a slight regain, Tier 2 a full regain, and Tier 3 will grant enhanced powers, which players are encouraged to get creative with.

As always, powers cannot be game breaking (please remember to be reasonable!). Achieving a tier in either in-House or cross-House CR can lead to power regains.

To apply for and maintain Bond Boosts, players must submit completed action threads (log OR quest) using the form linked above. Threads can be of any age but can only be used once for any rewards (shop or boosts). Bonds can be updated once monthly at any time during the month. The current conversion of threads per month for each tier is listed under the link to the form, subject to change depending on the pace of the game.

Bond Boosts last for 1 month, so you must maintain consistent CR (threading) to keep your powers. Check Current Tiers below to be sure your Boosts are submitted - the form updates automatically every 5 minutes.

ACTIVITY & HIATUS/DROP

Activity Check

AC for Restoria is check-in only - no proofs required! This form will be open for the first week of each month. Be sure to access it and check in for your character before the week is up. Players who fail to confirm their presence and interest in the game by the end of the week will be swept without prior warning.

HIATUS

If you know in advance that you won't be able to check in for the following month, but you are still interested in the game, you also have the option of selecting Hiatus on the above AC form. This will exempt you from checking in for the following month. Alternately, you may have a friend check you in!

If neither option is feasible - and/or if you'd just like to let your CR know you're gone - you may fill out the form below and leave a comment on this post. ICly, a hiatus might be the result of a weakened bond causing a temporary disappearance from Restoria, or a character has chosen to go on a mission outside of the Cities.

DROP

We're sad to see you go, and we wish you the best moving forward! Please fill out the following form when you drop and leave it as a comment on this post, making sure to replace JOURNALNAME with your character's journal name.

ICly, characters that are dropped have chosen to go home, or else their bond to Restoria has broken (either permanently or temporarily, if re-apped) and they have disappeared.

QUESTS

QUESTS

Quests are permanent or limited opportunities (prompts) to engage with your CR by working together to accomplish tasks for your House or for the Sentinels of Restoria. New quests will be posted and announced periodically. Top levels may be posted to permanent and active quests at any time, and player engagement with quests (e.g., achieving a certain comment count on a quest post) may trigger game events and changes!

IC rewards for quests include Reore or items, positive reputation among Natives, and the acquiring of new skills. The skills required and skills gained for each quest are listed, but these are not strictly tracked by mods as they are primarily for player fun and reference for character development. It is up to players whether your character is qualified for a quest, and it is okay if they get in over their heads!

Do you have a suggestion for a quest? Drop it here!

Limited Quests

Reward: 💎💎💎 Reore
Skills Required: Engineering, Strength, Piloting, Combat
Skills Gained: Native Tech, Combat
Expires: 06/30/21

The People still living in the Ruins of the Lost City are in need of help. Supply lines have been disrupted as the Bridge of Zudomoi deteriorates. Citizens of the Ruins attempted to use recently recovered technology to repair the bridge themselves, but the maintenance Droids have been corrupted, damaging the Bridge instead of fixing it. Travelers are requested to pilot airships full of supplies to the Ruins, help stop the robotic workers without damaging them too much, repair the bridge and bring Droids back for Defragmentation. This quest will take several weeks to complete, and Travelers are encouraged to take breaks and return home as needed.

Permanent Quests

Reward: 💎 Reore
Skills Required: None
Skills Gained: Botany
Expires: Never

With the large influx of Travelers, so comes the Merging, where the worlds of the visitors and Restoria begin to mesh and mix. The Sentinels take care to catalog many of these changes, including the new flora that show up around the cities, which they carefully cultivate in the large Conservatory. With the Travelers available, they request assistance in cataloging all of these new arrivals.

Reward: 💎 Reore
Skills Required: None
Skills Gained: Mining
Expires: Never

As the precious stones of Restoria are vital to the use of magic by the Sentinels and in much of the Cities' powergrids, there will always be a need for more! And thus a standing Quest for all Travelers who wish to assist in mining the stones from within the mountains and nearby canyons is available. At first Travelers will have a Native Guide who will lead them to the mines and show them the best stones to look for, but after some time experienced Travelers can lead these quests all by themselves. All stones will be delivered by Hoverboats to the City of Stones for processing before then being sent to their designated locations for use.

LOCATIONS

LOCATIONS

No matter the distance, locations are accessible to Travelers via conveniently located Travel Ports, which run on a schedule similar to a bus stop. Just wait for a portal to open and step inside to the other side! Fares will be billed each sun cycle, unless or until the purchase of a Port Pass from the Travelers' Shop.

The exception is the Lost City Ruins, which are off-limits to Travelers unless by special permission (such as a Quest). Travel Ports to the Lost City are non-functional.

Greenhouse of Unity

Greenhouse of Unity

CONSERVATORY
HALL OF COMMUNION

The shrine and magical center of Restorian civilization is the Greenhouse of Unity, which occupies the central region of the Twilight Strip. The Greenhouse itself is a mix of solid stone and flourishing nature, plants just as prevalent as the rock and ancient wood it is built from and into. The highest point of the Greenhouse is the immensely grand Tree of Harmony, around which stands the Auratorium, where the Sentinels practice the powerful magic that binds the layers of the multiverse.

The Tree is so large that it is visible even from a great distance away. To help maintain the mystical power of the Tree, Sentinels have embedded precious stones and gems all over the compound. These stones feed the Tree and keep it strong and healthy, but must be replaced once their magic has been used. Currently, members of both Cloud and Stone are working together to create synthetic stones that can be refilled with magic and reused, but they have not perfected them yet.

Sentinels live on site in their own personal quarters spread throughout the complex, but much of the Greenhouse is open to everyone. The Sentinels do not limit access to most areas, but the Auratorium is limited to Sentinels only, outside of special occasions and important mission quests. The rest of the Greenhouse, from the Conservatory, to the Grand Hall of Communion, to the Hall of Travelers and the Traveler's Shop, are all open to any Traveler (both new arrivals and old) at any time.

Conservatory
A place of reflection and contemplation, full of plants the Sentinels have collected to preserve from regions of Restoria where Merging might cause them to become extinct - as well as new additions from other worlds. It is a very spiritual place, full of life and magic. For plants that require a lot of sunlight, artificial lamps are in place to keep them healthy. Travelers who are aching for a sunny day at home might enjoy spending time here.

The Grand Hall of Communion
The Grand Hall is meant to be a place of togetherness and revelry. It is large enough to hold grand parties, holiday celebrations, and to encourage communing and bonding among the Houses.

Hall of Travelers

Hall of Travelers

Spacious and open, with tables and cabinets at the far end, the Hall of Travelers is meant as a way house for the Travelers brought to Restoria. There are plants all over, just as with the rest of the Greenhouse, which form a clearly marked path to all of the important areas Travelers may be interested in. The path even passes by the Traveler's Shop, which is built right into the hall. Travelers will notice the shelves and counters full of items for purchase, and eventually, private housing arrangements can be made here. A short flight of stairs leads up to a loft with a small library filled with books borrowed from the catalogs of Stone and Cloud (you'll notice far more of the books originate from Cloud).

Anyone who insists on returning home immediately will be escorted back to the Auratorium to be returned to their universe. Note that violence within the Greenhouse of Unity is banned, and will be met with serious repercussions - perhaps even a one-way ticket back home.

Travelers' Dormitory

Travelers' Dormitory

ROOM
LOBBY
COMMONS

Nestled among the massive roots of the Tree of Harmony and connected to the Hall of Travelers via stone bridge is the Travelers' Dormitory, where those newly arrived to Restoria will spend their first month (or longer, if desired). Once a place of study and residence for the many Sentinels of Restoria, now that their numbers have dwindled, most of the rooms have been repurposed for Travelers to use. In some structures, dust and signs of disuse still linger. The atmosphere is ascetic, but full of the sights, sounds, and scents of nature: running water, birdsong, and the gentle twilight sun filtering through the twisted roots of the great tree. Those who are sensitive to magic will feel energized by this place, especially upon touching any of the glittering gemstones that decorate both the wood and stone features of the area.

Rooms are shared by two Travelers, who will be randomly assigned to live together. The rooms themselves are small and basic, fashioned almost entirely of natural materials. For Travelers who need their space, there are plenty of common areas where one can freely relax, take their meals, and enjoy a small library of books and board games. Each grouping of rooms also features a common kitchen. Although the buildings that make up the Dormitory look separate, all are interconnected through a series of staircases and pathways, some of which are carved into stone or entwined with the roots of the Tree.

At the highest point of dormitory structure is the cafeteria, where vegetarian meals are served at regular intervals. Orientations and lessons on the history and culture of Restoria are also sometimes held here. There is plenty of space and floor seating, ideal for meetings.

City of Clouds

City of Clouds

SANCTUARY
HOUSING
ROOM

[ art credit: 1, 2 ]

High up on the mountain of the frozen night side of Restoria, the City of Clouds exists where the air may feel cold and thin until a Traveler becomes more used to it. They can look out from illuminated towers to see the clouds and airships traveling back and forth carrying supplies around the city and away from it. The softly glowing peaks of the city are easily visible from the Greenhouse. The City of Clouds has a very lofty and sophisticated feel to it, full of tall buildings and more advanced technology in comparison to its sister, City of Stones. People are always on the move in the City of Clouds, the Natives coming across as restless but with purpose.

The city has electricity (powered by wind and meltwater), heating, pop culture hubs, and elaborate architecture. There is an entire entertainment district with restaurants, music clubs, and no less than five museums. There is an artistic flair to the city, and one can see the passage of many centuries' worth of trends in its architecture and artworks. The tallest points of the city are the Sanctuary and the sharp edges of its Grand Library. To access these areas of the City, one must have authorization from a member of the House of Cloud.

Sanctuary
The center of magic for the City of Clouds. It is the place where all members of the House come to train, study, learn, and share the data they collect on their travels. The Grand Library inside of the Sanctuary is where the House of Cloud maintains all of its records and extensive book catalog that happens to include books that have appeared from other worlds and books from Restoria's past that are millennia old. The highest peak of the Sanctuary has a glowing pool of thermally-heated water that never feels too hot or too cold. Soaking in this water as the winds blow around has physical healing properties and allows members of the House to renew their connection to the Clouds and their own magic.

Housing
New House of Cloud members will be given Orientation where they are shown around the important areas of the city (including relevant Travel Ports nearby) and then directed to the Housing for House Members that is built into the cliff faces and mountain peaks the City sits on. The Housing may look luxurious and expensive, but Travelers will find the single person rooms to be sparsely furnished. They have basic amenities: one bed, one small bath, a kitchenette, and a living room/bedroom open floor layout. There are a lot of shelves for storage (and books).

City of Stones

City of Stones

SANCTUARY
HOUSING
ROOM

[ art credit: 1 ]

In the desert on the daylight side of the Twilight Strip is the City of Stones, built right into the faces of every shaded canyon, crevice, and cave of their mountain. Travelers can look down from the mountain and see the whole city before them, or look up to see the bridges and roads carved out of rock that carry people from place to place. It is a very sturdy city, built to withstand and to endure, but also simple and practical in its architecture. The airships from the City of Clouds seem very out of place, but they always leave the City heavier than they arrived.

The City of Stones is powered by geothermal energy and the rushing water of the underground river running beneath the entire city, but to conserve energy they have special stones that absorb solar energy and help light the subterranean portions of the city. There are indoor eateries, but they are simple and mostly for standing room or take out only, and many seem to take advantage of the various kiosks for food and treats all over the city. It is obvious the people of the Stone enjoy their time within the cool caverns and tunnels they have built their city into, but they also enjoy the warm open air of the canyon just as much. Travelers new to the city may find the outdoors uncomfortably hot, but Natives assure them that they will adjust.

Follow the bridges and they will take you to the Sanctuary of Stones, the most ornate building in the entire city and where its magic derives from, with the most visible part being the watchtower of the Glimmering Gymnasium. To access these areas of the City, one must have authorization from a member of the House of Stone.

Sanctuary
The center of magic for the City of Stones. Within the Sanctuary is the Rock of Eternity, the oldest rock formation known to Restoria, with its strong magical core. It is this that the House of Stone takes its power from. The Glimmering Gymnasium is a grand room filled with equipment for physical training and demonstrations. Travelers may train there, study the techniques of others, and even take part in open exhibitions that can be viewed by anyone. In the deepest depths of the Sanctuary, is the Room of Restoration, with its bubbling hot spring. The spring water heals both physically and spiritually, allowing members of Stone to restore their connection with both their body and their magic.

Housing
New House of Stone members will be given Orientation where they are shown around the important areas of the city (including relevant Travel Ports nearby) and then directed to the Housing for House Members that is carved deep into the caves of the canyon. The Housing may look cramped and dark, but Travelers will find the single person rooms to be cozy with glowing stones embedded throughout the walls to provide plenty of lighting. They have basic amenities: one bed, one small bath, a kitchenette, and a living room/bedroom open floor layout. Much of the storage is built into the stone floors.

Lost City Ruins

Lost City Ruins

Just as the The Lost House it once sheltered, the Lost City lays in ruins. Wide range destruction and devastation, debris and dust blows on the wind from the rubble that has yet to be taken over by what vestiges of nature have tried to reclaim parts of the city. It feels like a deadland in a world forsaken. What is left behind are hints of a city that was rather modern and technologically advanced, more so than many would comprehend.

People still exist within the city, those who could not leave still trying to make do with what scraps and salvage they can cobble together. These remaining inhabitants have done what they can to forge some system of government and way of life among the apocalyptic landscape, but they struggle and often require regular aid from the other two Cities for much needed supplies and food. The people still within the city do not give up, but there is a quiet cynicism and unspoken resentment towards those from the other Cities. The people of the Ruins bear the scars of damaged pride.

Umbral Forest

Umbral Forest

A forest once teeming with life and overflowing with magic, the Umbral Forest has fallen into rot and perversion. Plants and animals still exist, but they have been twisted and corrupted, many of which will not leave the shadows of the trees if not for something provoking them. The magic of the Forest feels different even from a distance, thick and suffocating to those who are unused to its weight.

Travel into the Umbral Forest is forbidden unless it is a sanctioned Quest with proper preparation and protections. To attempt on your own may find you facing dire consequences, whether from the creatures there or the effects of the Forest's distorted magic. Do not do so lightly.

FACTIONS

FACTIONS

Restoria has existed for eons. As the planet has evolved, so have its people. Having advanced beyond mortality, Restorians ascended to new understandings of life and purpose... but not all those purposes were the same. Thus the Natives of Restoria came to live in the roles and the Houses that most suit them. Despite their differences, the Native culture is united by one ideal above all: harmony and peaceful coexistence. Voices are never raised in aggression, and disagreement is rarely expressed. The typical demeanor of a Restorian ranges from quietly enigmatic to cheerful and agreeable. Argument with a Native is quite futile, as they will treat ornery Travelers as if they are children who still have much to learn.

The mysterious Sentinels bring the Travelers to Restoria, and the Houses gladly provide them benefits and shelter, eager to share all they have. However, they are not the only beings that Travelers must be aware of. The Devourer and its followers, the Enders, are still out there, encroaching ever closer.

HOUSE OF STONE

Power. Strength. Physicality. To be as sturdy and enduring as the rock they carve their homes and Sanctuary from.

That is the House of Stone, which defends the daylight side of Restoria.

Those in the House of Stone prioritize physicality and embracing of The Body. They believe that to navigate the world you must first know how to navigate yourself. To know how your body moves, to know how it feels, to engage in the living nature of your existence. They are as intune with their physical form as any being could possibly be and will seek to teach the Travelers who choose their House the same. Travelers will find the House of Stone to expect newcomers to prove their worth through physical skill, hard work, and loyalty, to show they can be trusted through actions more than words.

To choose the House of Stone is to gain a connection to the mountain itself. To recognize that it is as alive and full of magic as any other living being in Restoria. As the wind blows the Cloud into the distance, as the leaves fall from the Tree, Stone stays as it shall always be. The influence of the Stone leads many of the people to have shimmering, gleaming skin, like precious stones or shining pebbles, smoothed by centuries of water running over them. This skin is tough and protective and their eyes also are darker, pupils wider.

The House of Stone provides their own form of communication device to all who choose it. It is a well forged cuff bracelet embedded with a gleaming stone not unlike many of the precious stones and gems that Travelers see throughout the Greenhouse or the City of Stone. Pick a wrist or arm to put the device on and you will feel a sensation. Warmth, cold, a shock, anything. The stone will sense you and change its colors and form to suit each individual. This stone provides the ability to project holographic images and texts and can also transfer audio and text as commanded. Touch the stone and impose your will, write the words you wish to see into its surface and watch them appear before you. The more intune one becomes with the body and physical, the more the stone may benefit them and influence them in turn.

Travelers who choose the House of Stone may gain:
  • Superior Strength, able to carry and move items much heavier than yourself.
  • Resistance to physical attacks (tougher, denser skin)
  • Enhanced Vision in the night and darker areas, such as the caverns of the mountain.

HOUSE OF CLOUD

Knowledge, Curiosity, Mentality. To have an inquiring mind and eternally open to go where your thoughts and questions take you much like a cloud forever traveling on the wind they take their namesake from.

That is the House of Cloud, which defends the night side of Restoria.

Those in the House of Cloud prioritize embracing The Mind. They believe to know the world you must know the Self, you at your deepest, darkest and most intimate mental state. They seek to understand the workings of the universe in the who, what, where, why and when. They will do all they can to help Travelers who choose their House to embrace their insatiable drive to learn and engage with that knowledge. The House of Cloud, however, does not just believe that you learn from books and standard education. They go out into the world and directly experience the knowledge, taking it for themselves and will expect newcomers to prove their own drive and ability to do the same.

To choose the House of Cloud is to be influenced by the ephemeral, ever shifting nature of Truth. To recognize fact is only what you know until something comes along to redefine it and that the mystical nature of the mind can shift and change just as easily. As Stone stays unbending to its foundations, as a seed from the Tree planted deep ever changes form to reach its final state, the Cloud extends itself into the horizon seeking more. The influence of the Cloud leads many to have an inner glow, the radiance of their Self bursting forth from their physical form. Their eyes are sharp and intense, to stare as if they are looking deep into you in search of everything you are.

The House of Cloud has its own unique communication devices that draw on one's mental focus. The amulet is fashioned as a vial filled with glowing, sparkling liquid. When you put it on, focus your mind on one of your most ardent and important memories. Memories that define who you are. The color of the liquid will swirl and shift, changing to best suit each individual. This amulet provides the ability to project holographic images and texts and can also transfer audio and text as commanded. The more intune a person is to their mind, the more they may find the amulet capable of doing as time goes on, the more it may begin to influence them.

Travelers who choose the House of Cloud may gain:
  • Enhanced Farsight, able to see things at a distance clearly.
  • Light Touch, able to walk on snow and water without displacing it (lighter bodies).
  • Less need for oxygen, an ability to withstand the thin air of high peaks and the depths of the ocean without needing to breathe as much.

SENTINELS OF RESTORIA

The Sentinels are a dedicated union that has spent years protecting their world and trying to stop the approach of the Devourer. The Sentinels, occupying the central valley of the Twilight Strip, have devoted themselves to Watching: observing all that is and all that may be. They are the peak of the evolution of their people, unified and bonded in their magic and understanding that all things are connected through the multiverse. It is through their observations that they learned of the coming of the Devourer and sought to warn not only the people of Restoria, but all the inhabitants of the multiverse.

All Sentinels start in one of the Houses before devoting their lives to the Union, but the longer they have been a Sentinel the more the influences of their previous House fades and the magic of the Tree seeps in instead. They are often helpful, and friendly, but also disconnected, as they at times forget to remove themselves from their own neutrality and objectivity. They have sacrificed their ability to create bonds in the way that the Travelers can in order to bring Travelers to Restoria and will do anything they can to motivate them to help in the fight against the Devourer.

That does not mean they always understand the lives of mortals as much as they once did and their ideas of being “helpful” may not always be what most people would consider respectful of boundaries or personal free will.

THE LOST HOUSE

Walking through the Greenhouse of Unity and Hall of Travelers, one may find many black flags and emblems in the shape of a downward facing triangle. No other mark or flare. Only black, nondescript triangles. When asked, Travelers will be told they are in memoriam of The Lost House of Restoria. The Ruins of the City of the Lost House still exist to the east of the Twilight Strip, some may even be assigned quests to travel and help the inhabitants there struggling to survive as best they can with what is left of the great House that once sheltered them.

But what about the House itself and its people? The Sentinels will give no great details. Wait, they will say. The Truth of the Lost House will come one day soon enough and all the reckoning that it shall bring.

THE DEVOURER

The cosmic being that is traveling the multiverse, eating universes as it goes. It has all forms and none. It can be anything and nothing. It seeks out universes with the most frayed connections to the multiverse, feasting on those first. Those that it eats cease to exist. Although the Devourer thrives on the energy released by splitting the metaphysical bonds of spacetime, the stronger the bonds that a universe has to the universes around it, the harder it is to eat. As the very center of the multiverse, Restoria represents the ultimate dinner. The destruction of Restoria means a buffet for the Devourer.

Fortunately, the Natives have learned that much like any predator when faced with challenging prey, the Devourer will move on from the most tightly bonded of universes in order to find its next easy meal. Thus, many centuries' worth of resources have been devoted to defending this planet, and with it the multiverse, from destruction.

ENDERS OF THE VOID

The Devourer is not without those who wish to assist it. And so, there are the Enders of the Void.

To the west of the Twilight Strip lies the Umbral Forest. Dark and twisted yet somehow compelling, in that standing before it feels like you could enter and go on for eternity. This feeling is not unlike the feeling of being in the presence of an Ender, whose encroach is marked by corruption and decay. But what is their motivation?

"They seek an End to All Things and we must stop them."

That is the brief summation most Restorians will give. The Enders cannot be trusted. They are just as determined and devoted to their cause as the Houses and Sentinels are to thwart them. But what could possibly cause an individual to deliberately seek out the void of non-existence? The Sentinels cannot - or will not - say.

What they look like, where they come from, how they have gained such power...you will not find this information easy to come by for now.

    INTERVIEW

[ Notes: IC interviews may be completed in brackets OR prose. Whether your character is inclined to exaggerate or answer modestly, lie or be entirely truthful, you should descibe their movements, facial expressions, and/or inner dialogues accordingly! Characters who must respond in writing or through other means will be given the tools to do so, at whatever technology level is easiest for them to use.

IC Applications do not require sample threads. ]

Some time after arrival, after all has been explained and your character is given time to think and explore, your character is led to a verdant, foliage-filled room by a soft-spoken Sentinel of indeterminate gender, clad in a heavy robe that obscures their face. Once both have taken a seat between two lush ferns, the Sentinel asks the following questions. They come one after the other, offering no commentary or encouragement at any point during their strange interview. If given answers that are too vague or too brief, the Sentinel will simply wait in compelling silence for elaboration; it is clear they are waiting for the why as well as the what.

Although the Sentinel's eyes are not visible in the shadow of their hood, there is an unsettling feeling of being intensely watched throughout.

    "Tell me about your world."

"What is your role in your universe?"

"How did you find your place?"

    "What do you fear?"

"Who or what is dearest to you?"

    "Will you help our cause?"

"Should you stay, you are given a choice of spiritual path: the House of Cloud, or the House of Stone. Have you made your decision?"

    FAQ

    FAQ

    Premise & Arrival

    What is Restoria?

Restoria is a (voluntary) jamjar game for original characters only. All characters - known as Travelers - are brought into the game by The Calling and assist in preventing the multiverse from being eaten by a cosmic being known as the Devourer, which is aided by a corrupt faction known as the Enders. There will be fantasy and sci-fi elements, action/adventure possibilities, influence by characters’ worlds on the setting, and emphasis on characters building deep bonds with both each other and the world of Restoria in order to save the multiverse. There is a loose metaplot which will be steered towards one of several imagined conclusions by character participation, event engagement, and player interest.

Events will consist primarily of regular quests to facilitate metaplot, world exploration, and resource gathering; a seasonal game-canon TDM; and monthly character mingles.
    ^

    What are bonds?

ICly, "bonds" are close friendships and partnerships established between Travelers - and between Travelers and the world of Restoria - via frequent interaction with peers, Natives, and the setting. The more one character interacts with another, the more they will begin to feel energized in their presence. Natives will also refer to the "bonds" that intangibly connect the web of the multiverse, and which allow Travelers to arrive in Restoria and harmonize with the planet's energies, drawing new power from the world itself and feeding back their own energies. Bonds strengthen Travelers, Natives, and the very world of Restoria itself, ensuring the continued existence of the multiverse with Restoria at its center.

OOCly, characters build and maintain their bonds through consistent threading with characters both within and outside of their own Houses (factions), which will be tracked. In other words, longstanding CR comes with rewards, which we call Bond Boosts! Those rewards can be power regains or unique setting-specific powers, such as telepathy, power sharing, and elemental abilities. Read more about bonds and Bond Boosts here.
    ^

What makes Restoria unique for OCs and OC players?

Glad you asked! Restoria was conceptualized as an ideal place to have judgment-free fun with our some of our most indulgent of OC ideas, with app requirements that aren't too stressful for those of us lacking an extensive RP or writing/worldbuilding history with said OCs. While there are some limitations on appable characters to ensure a fair and comfortable environment for everyone, Restoria welcomes original characters from all walks of life: canon/fandom, D&D and MMORPG, high fantasy, sci-fi, supernatural, modern, mundane, and so on.

Furthermore, Restoria aims to maximize creative input from our talented playerbase, because obviously OC players love writing! You will find opportunities to share aspects of their characters' worlds with the other players in the game via "merging", with the potential to further incorporate their worldbuilding into the game setting itself via eventual nexus/worldhopping mechanics.

Have you ever wanted to invite other people's characters into your OC's world? You can!

Do you love thinking up events and conflicts? Submit a Quest!

And for players who love character creation, why not consider dreaming up a Restoria native as a secondary character, or even an Ender? We'll help!
    ^

How do characters arrive in Restoria?

Characters will hear a voice calling to them and then feel themselves falling through time and space before awakening among the roots of the Tree of Harmony in the Greenhouse of Unity (yes, Restorians do enjoy emphasizing bonds and unions). The tree is in the center of the auditorium where the Sentinels of Restoria will greet them. Travelers will find dire injuries and death blows have been mysteriously healed - though scars and disfigurements may remain, at the player's discretion.

Then they will be guided to the Hall of Travelers. There they will be told the reason they have been brought to Restoria, given a brief interview, and then presented with a choice: stay and save the multiverse, or return back to their own world. Only Travelers who have chosen to stay will move on from there. Those who refuse will be guided back to their own worlds.
    ^

What if my character would argue or put up a fight?

Bye! The Sentinels of Restoria will not expend precious limited resources on maintaining an interplanar bond with an unwilling or uncooperative Traveler. They will be patient in explaining the dire circumstances of the multiverse, but only to a point. We suggest apping a character who will have some motivation to preserve their world (or at least one who is willing to lie and play along!).
    ^

What characters can be brought to Restoria?

As this is a game For Original Characters Only, only characters that are completely of your own design will be accepted.

This does not mean the setting must be original (Canon OCs are allowed!), but the characters themselves cannot be an official character in the canon. If the character has an official name, visual depiction, dialogue, or a direct reference in canon somewhere, then we would not consider them an OC. In other words, malleable protagonists (such as the Warrior of Light from FFXIV) and minor background characters that you have embellished will not be accepted. If you're still uncertain, feel free to ask!
    ^

What types of Canon OCs are allowed?

In regards to Canon OCs, the characters cannot have close ties - think familial or best friendship - to any canon character, nor any direct influence on the official canon story. There should be no information about your character that would directly conflict with or contradict the canon or events in canon as we know them. A good rule of thumb is: if there is something in or about your character's story that would be expected for an incoming Canon OC castmate to know (beyond a surface level "a fellow adventurer from X guild" or "a student at X school"), then it should be edited out. This rule applies regardless of the obscurity of the canon or the likelihood of getting castmates.

Here are some helpful examples, using familiar canons, of what would not and would (respectively) be acceptable to app:

❌ An imagining of Szeto, a previous Avatar with little known canon information.
⭕ A heretofore unrevealed and unnamed Avatar from the past.

❌ Your customized Pokemon Sword & Shield protagonist, who followed the game story and became Champion.
⭕ A skilled Pokemon trainer from the Galar region who has won a few tournaments.

    ❌ Inuyasha and Kagome's long-lost second daughter.
⭕ A demon from Koga's wolf clan of your own imagining.

In that same spirit, Canon AUs are also not allowed, including future universes, fix-its, and "what-if" AUs. "[Canon] But Everyone Is An OC" universes are also not permitted, as they would be confusing to Canon OCs of that canon. Now, if you would like to create an original setting based off of a version of a canon setting, with everything renamed and expies of the canon characters that are Not Those Characters... well. We're not gonna tell you how to worldbuild for your OC.
    ^

Are table top RPG games considered a Canon?

Those with published settings, such as Forgotten Realms or Dragonlance, or Norrath from EverQuest, are considered canons for the purposes of this game. Whether table top, video game, or an MMO, these with official published canon settings all have people, places, and events that characters would be expected to be aware of. All characters from one of these published canon settings will fall under the same rules as any other Canon OC, listed above.

If you would like to adapt your table top or MMO character to make their setting unique ("serial numbers filed off"), that is also acceptable.
    ^

How much AU is a Canon AU for published settings from TTRPG and MMOs?

No canon set information can be altered, but if there is an allowance for making up cities, people, etc., go for it! We are more than okay with you creating alternate city names and adjusting your character's backstory so that it exists within these published settings but would not cause overlap or interference with another character's life/backstory in that setting. The world is huge and even in real life, significant events happen every day that we don't know about!

If you have major world changing events such as massive wars, destruction, or an apocalypse happening, then you may need to tone those down. However, as long as the events are things someone else could reasonably not know and thus no other player would have to adhere to the events of your campaigns, then it's fair game.

It is also possible to take your character from a canon point before the major AU events occur in their campaign. If it hasn't happened yet in their "canon," then it doesn't count!
    ^

So characters from self-made settings using table top mechanics are not Canons?

If you have created the world and setting yourself, even if you borrowed the game play mechanics of a table top game during your campaign, then you are in the clear! This is your original setting and these Canon OC rules don't apply to you.
    ^

Can I app a character with CRAU from a previous game?

Due to our game lore, we are not accepting CRAU from other jamjar-type games.
    ^

Is there an age limit to what characters can be apped?

Character age can range depending on their suitability, but we are capping the age to no one under 10 years old physically and mentally. If your character reads like they will have trouble functioning independently in the setting due to their mental or physical age, we may ask you to rethink apping them. ICly, the Sentinels would send such characters directly home.
    ^

What can characters bring with them into the game?

Characters can bring anything immediately on their person or that they are holding and Two more items that they have a strong bond or connection to. These items can be no bigger than a motorcycle. This inventory can include tools, machines, weapons, or even a pet/familiar. Note also that AC rewards can be used for characters to request items from home.

Pets, familiars, and vehicles should be no larger than a pony upon arrival, with shrinking occurring if necessary. A size regain item can be purchased in the Shop with AC rewards.
    ^

My character is a vampire/werewolf/merperson/alien/robot/etc and needs special resources to survive (food, blood, energy, etc). How will this be handled?

The Sentinels and the Houses will provide synthetic substitutes, or players can assume that characters are sustained by the magical core energy of their House.

Additional options may be provided as the game develops.
    ^

My character is a ghost/spectre/shade/etc and has no physical body. Will they get one?

Characters all must be able to interact with the setting and other characters in the setting to be appable, but those without a corporeal form will have the option to gain the ability to have a physical form. However, that form will be even more influenced by the House they have chosen than other characters are at first.
    ^

My character's physical form is dependent on their magic/power/deity, how will they be affected by the power nerfing?

If a character has a set way in which they are presented and use magic or their connection to a higher being to maintain that form, they will arrive in game without this, but after a few days the magic will even itself out and they will appear as they typically do.

The magic of Restoria will not stop someone from looking as they have envisioned themselves nor will it prevent someone who has been cursed in their world from the full effects of that curse (a character cursed to look like an ogre will still look an ogre), but they may find the rest of their magic/abilities even more limited to make up for so much power going into their physical presentation. Those whose appearance are affected by a curse or something similar can also gain the ability to return to their natural form.
    ^

How many characters can you app at once? How many characters can you have in game?

Players can app two characters in one app cycle. Players can have up to three characters in game at the same time.
    ^

    Setting

What type of setting is Restoria?

Restoria is a fantasy world with sci-fi and magitech elements, inhabited by an old world sentient species that have evolved to the point of natural immortality. The planet exists in a universe separate from the universes of all the characters that will be called there, functioning as the center of the webbed bonds of the multiverse. The Natives of Restoria place a great emphasis on the importance of harmony and cooperation, such that violence, belligerence, and any verbal or physical display of discord are frowned upon.

The world of Restoria - and with it, your universe - is under siege by an entity known as the Devourer, which draws its strength from the immense energy released by the fission of spiritual and interplanar bonds. The Devourer is aided by a faction known as the Enders, who have gathered from many worlds and endeavor to prepare the Devourer's next meal for consumption. Their individual motivations are many, but their success could mean an end to the very concept known as the "multiverse."

Read more about the people of Restoria, the Enders, and the Devourer here. And you can read more about the planet of Restoria here.
    ^

What happens if my character is at odds with the ethos of Native Restorians?

Naturally combative or argumentative characters may find the Restorians' insistence on harmony above all to be stifling, but Natives know from experience that Travelers will need time to adjust to their ways. Travelers can expect to be treated with a somewhat paternalistic understanding that they just need more time. Flagrant displays of belligerence may be punished with tedious tasks and/or a "time out" to meditate in the Conservatory at the Greenhouse of Unity, or in the Sanctuary of their House.
    ^

What parts of the setting do characters have access to?

Characters have access to all the locations described on the locations page, but some of that access may be limited. More locations will be revealed and opened to characters as the game progresses!
    ^

    Where will characters live?

For their first month, all characters will stay in a dormitory at the Hall of Travelers, where they will share a room with another Traveler and enjoy communal areas for cooking, eating, and entertainment. Dorm residence may be temporary or permanent, and Travelers will still be able to enjoy access to the City and Sanctuary of their House via conveniently located Travel Ports.

After one month, characters may choose to live in the city of their House. Each House has its own City on opposite sides of the Twilight Strip, where Travelers will be given the option to reside in simply furnished, apartment style housing and basic amenities free of charge.

Information about Traveler Housing can be found on the locations page.
    ^

How do characters survive? How do they get food and basic supplies?

All Travelers will be afforded basic housing, supplies, and necessities. Food is provided by the cafeterias of their dormitories. All meals are vegetarian, though synthetic meat can be provided to individuals who must have it.

If characters would like additional luxuries or specialized supplies they can pay for them with the money they earn "IC" through working on a job around their House or completing Quests. "OOC" this will be gained as additional AC rewards.
    ^

Can my character find/build their own house or move out of the city?

As the planet is tidally locked, the territory outside of the major Restorian cities in and around the Twilight Strip is largely incompatible with life. One will find frozen mountains on the Cloud side and vast, barren desert on the Stone side, with extreme temperatures and storms limiting travel and homesteading. Likewise, the Umbral Forests are similarly inhospitable, as the Enders are an ever-present threat. To maintain safety and strength of bonds, most Restorians live within the House cities and they highly suggest the same to Travelers.

However, with a little savings - i.e., banked threads - characters may be able to purchase private housing within their city.
    ^

What plantlife and animals does Restoria have?

Animals and plants are generally not unlike what you would find on earth and in the fantasy worlds of some other canons, though with certain adaptations that seem as if they have merged with crystal or plantlife. As Restoria has been influenced by other worlds, some plants or benign animals might even be recognized by Travelers.

All flora and fauna in Restoria are benign and peaceful unless they have been stated otherwise by the mods, but there are more chances for dangerous species to appear from within the Umbral Forest.

Read more about flora and fauna here.

How will "merging" affect the setting?

Characters' worlds will begin to influence the setting of Restoria the stronger their bonds to each other become. This means that the more players thread and build CR, the greater the rewards, including setting-specific powers and the ability to have influences from their character's world show up. This could mean a location suddenly exists, or creatures start to appear, or many other ways they could bring an influence into Restoria.

More information will be announced in coming developments!
    ^

These locations look like they are quite a distance apart. How will characters travel between them?

Characters will be able to use Travel Ports. They are similar to bus stations (including a Travel Schedule), only they instead teleport groups to other Travel Ports. These Travel Ports can go somewhere within their City or to the other City or to the entrance of the Greenhouse of Unity.

Please make sure your character is at the correct Travel Port at the right time if they want to go to their desired location on time! If not, they may miss the Port and have to wait until the next scheduled time. Using Travel Ports also costs money, but a permanent pass can be purchased as a reward!
    ^

Okay so Restoria has a currency. What's that about?

The currency of Restoria is called Reore (represented by this symbol: 💎).

Reore are sparkling coins made of crushed gems and precious stones that have lost their magical properties (usually having been used up for magic spells and the Calling). They are very thin, lightweight, but hard to break. They range in size and value from a 1 reore, a 5 reore, a 25 reore, a 50 reore, and a 100 reore.

Reore come with preset holes in them as it is tradition to accessorize your clothing with your money. Necklaces, bracelets, belts, and other accessories that are magically protected to prevent easy damage or theft while showing off a person's wealth. If you want to buy lunch, you can take a few reore off your bracelet to pay for it.

    Factions

Is my character required to select a House if they don't jibe with either?

Yes, for now characters will be required to choose between Stone or Cloud. Depending on the direction of the game's development and the types of characters that arrive, there may be opportunities in the future to join other Houses or factions. We are not considering player created factions at this time, including neutral factions.
    ^

Can we switch Houses in the future? How?

Switching Houses is not considered lightly, but it is possible for both Travelers and Natives. Contact the mods to have your character's House changed. All accrued powers and benefits of their previous House will be lost, and it may cost Reore to relocate.
    ^

Can my character join the Sentinels, the Enders, or the Lost House?

Not yet. If there appears to be IC interest in this, we are willing to make it happen!
    ^

Can my character visit the other House?

A Travel Port can take characters between the City of Stones and the City of Clouds easily, and they are free to sightsee whenever they like! However, someone of that House will have to sign them in if they'd like to enter the Housing or Sanctuary. Unfortunately, Travel Ports to the Lost City are offline for now.
    ^

    What is a Sanctuary?

The Sanctuary is the primary place of worship, study, and training of a House. Both Stone and Cloud have their own unique sanctuary that is exactly suited to their philosophy. Travelers and Restorians alike may go there to visit a House's stores of knowledge, train both new and old abilities, and recharge their spiritual energy (in some cases, literally). They also serve as centers of healing. Injured characters can be taken to a Sanctuary to receive medical care.

The Greenhouse of Unity functions as the Sanctuary for the Sentinels of Restoria and the Hall of Travelers.

    Technology

What level of technology does Restoria have?

The setting is fantasy with sci-fi magi-tech, but it differs depending on the location. The City of Clouds is more technologically advanced in general with its airships and elevators and floating restaurants, but the City of Stones has a natural practical style to it. The Greenhouse of Unity is a mix of both. The Lost City Ruins also has debris and scrapped wreckage showing remnants of a city that once had a lot of technology, but it is hard to recognize all of it.

At the same time there is basic technology for everyone, from the Travel Ports (teleportation bus stations) to the holographic tech of the communication devices.
    ^

What do the communication devices do?

The communication devices are holographic fusion of magic and technology. They project audio, visuals, text and more depending on how well Travelers intune themselves to their House. Each device is unique to the house and user. The devices can be used to communicate with a specific person, to a private Web for your House, or to the Traveler's Web at large.

More information about the communication devices can be found here.
    ^

    What is the Traveler's Web?

The communication network of all devices owned and operated by Travelers and those assisting them in Restoria. There are also Webs specific to House of Stone and House of Cloud's communication devices.
    ^

What happens if we break our communication device?

The communication devices are very hard to break as they are highly advanced magical technology, but damaging yours can lead to after effects. Your device is intune to your unique signature and breaking it may mean it cannot connect with you as fully as it once did and features may no longer work properly.

This can be mended but it would cost a large amount of Reore, so do take care of your communication device.

    Game Mechanics

How does time work in this game? What timezone is it in?

The game works on a 1:1 real life to game time ratio using Eastern Standard Time (EST/GMT-5).
    ^

What is the app cycle for this game?

The game will have rolling applications, meaning that applications are always open and character arrivals are staggered. New applications will be processed once a week. New test drive memes will be posted seasonally.
    ^

Will there be a player or character cap?

Yes. There is a cap of 40 characters, subject to change based on game progress. Native Restorian OCs and characters who join the Enders will not count towards this cap.
    ^

Are test drive threads canon? Can current players use them?

They are canon and count toward AC rewards. Current players may toplevel on the TDM, but please be mindful to tag out!
    ^

What are players required to have on their journals?

All characters are required to have a basic Character Profile and Permissions on their journals before they are accepted into the game communities. Character Profiles help people understand your character and the setting they come from, while Permissions posts are important for clearly establishing our boundaries and ensuring a comfortable playing environment for everyone. Optional templates for both are available here, but these posts can be in any format or length you like.

An IC Inbox and HMD are also recommended, but not required for acceptance!

Why and how will power nerfing function?

Power nerfing is intended to provide a more even playing field, prevent game breaking, and to help motivate characters to be proactive in their building of bonds because doing so will allow for power boosts and regains. ICly, it will take time for characters to become attuned to the natural energies and resonances of their new world. Stronger bonds among Travelers will hasten the return of powers.

There is a section about power-nerfing on the application as we will allow you to detail how you want your character's powers to be nerfed. This will not be strict and we leave most decisions to player judgment, but we reserve the right to veto powers or suggest adjustments.
    ^

What type of powers need to be nerfed?

Nerfing is considered on a character by character basis. If your character is an incredibly powerful Superman or Son Goku type, you will need to think of how those powers will be toned down upon entry. However, "standard" superhuman strength and supernatural abilities are acceptable entry-level powers. If you think a power does not need nerfing, simply justify on your application why the power is fair and not game-breaking. Nerfing should leave characters plenty motivated to form strong bonds with others in order to regain and maintain their powers.

Note that this refers specifically to powers and special abilities. A character with a PhD in genetic bioengineering does not need to nerf their knowledge, but they may not have the tools and access to put it to use.

Due to our game lore, universe and dimension-hopping powers must be permanently nerfed.
    ^

How do we tag our characters?

Character tags will be "player: character name".
    ^

What about if a character dies in game?

If a character dies, they can be brought back to life by the Sentinels and powerful magic, but at the cost of the use of precious resources. There will be consequences and after effects that are individual to each character based on the who, what, where, when and why.

Death is not to be taken lightly in Restoria. If you plan to kill your character in game please discuss this with the mods, unless otherwise specified in an event description.
    ^

What if my character wants to go back home?

While the Sentinels understand moments of homesickness and uncertainty, if a character is absolutely certain that they do not want to remain in Restoria, the Sentinels will send the character back home. They would not want to keep anyone there who is not invested in building the bonds to save the multiverse.

As the game progresses, characters will have the opportunity to earn the ability to come and go between their own world and Restoria - and even take other characters with them!
    ^

What about if I need to drop or hiatus?

For drops, characters either choose to return home or disappear because the bond that the Sentinels created to bring them has broken. Hiatuses may be the result of a weakened bond resulting in a temporary disappearance (stasis), or your character has chosen to go off to another area for a mission away from the Cities (autopilot).
    ^

What are the game's activity requirements?

The game has a check-in AC form that will be open for one week at the beginning of each month and threads can be turned in to gain AC rewards. Players who will not be available during that week can post a hiatus in advance.

More information about Activity Check can be found here.
    ^

How will the rewards for threads work?

Completed action threads (including network threads that turn to action) between characters can be turned in to provide power boosts to the characters based on whether the threads are considered inter-House CR or intra-House CR. A thread is considered complete when the scene reaches a natural conclusion without being dropped by either party. Quest threads may be eligible for their own rewards.

Complete OR incomplete threads with at least 5 posts from your character (network or action) may be turned in for items from the Shop. More information about Rewards and Boosts can be found here.

IC Rewards accrued from Quest threads (reputation, skills, 💎 Reore) are not tracked by mods, but feel free to incorporate them into your character's in-game development!
    ^

Can we post nsfw content/use nsfw content for rewards?

Yes, just be sure to post clear content warnings on nsfw or potentially triggering content (smut, gratuitous violence, abuse, etc.) on both log posts and reward requests.
